“Little Boy Blue” Packaging Design
“Little Boy Blue” was a playlist created by me for a friend as a gift.
I burned a physical CD for the gift and designed a complete digipak design to package it.
Proficient use of Photoshop, including text boxes, blending modes, and textures, showcases advanced graphic design software skills. The application of these tools results in a complete CD booklet package with seamlessly edited images and text. Skillful application of color, value, and texture governs the composition, setting the tone for the compilation album "Little Boy Blue." The utilization of various blue hues and values creates cohesion, with texture enhancing the overall image.
The design's development involved thoughtful exploration, incorporating contrasting images of the Golden Gate Bridge and a mountaintop, taken by the recipient of the gift. The juxtaposition adds depth to the design, reflecting creativity in utilizing my friend's own work in the design for their gift.
Adherence to given directions is evident, considering the complexities of CD and vinyl designs beyond cover artwork. This showcases an understanding of the broader requirements of the project. The final design presents a clear, high-quality, and color-accurate image. Its intricate and detailed presentation, including legible text, demonstrates craftsmanship in creating a cohesive design for various components of the CD package.
